Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the A1 highway. From cities like Aveiro or Viseu, take the exit for A1 towards Coimbra. Once on the A1, follow the signs for Coimbra and exit at the Coimbra Norte interchange. Continue on N111 and follow the signs for the city center. As you approach Coimbra, keep an eye out for signage indicating Praça 8 de Maio. The Town Hall is located at Praça 8 de Maio, 3000-300 Coimbra. There are several parking options nearby, including public parking lots, where you may incur a fee of around €1.50 per hour.

From the University of Coimbra, which is about a 20-minute walk away, head down Rua da Sofia, then turn left onto Rua da Liberdade, and proceed until you reach Praça 8 de Maio. The Town Hall is situated at the square, and you can't miss its distinct architecture.
