  • Walking

    From Baixa de Coimbra, head towards the Rua Ferreira Borges. Walk straight along this street until you reach the intersection with Rua da Sofia. Turn left onto Rua da Sofia. Continue walking straight until you see the beautiful Praça 8 de Maio on your right. Cross the square, and you will see the stunning view of the Sé Velha in the distance. Walk towards it, and you will find yourself at the Largo da Sé Velha, which is the main entrance.

    If you are near the Praça do Comércio, exit towards Rua da Liberdade and walk straight until you reach the bridge over the River Mondego. Cross the bridge, then turn left onto the Rua da Sé Velha. Follow this street directly to the cathedral, which will be on your left after a short walk.

    For those who prefer public transport, take Bus Line 34 from the nearest bus stop 'Largo da Portagem', located in Baixa de Coimbra. The bus will take you up to the 'Sé Velha' stop. The ticket costs approximately €1.70 and can be purchased from the driver. Once you get off at Sé Velha, you will be right at the entrance of the cathedral.
