Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the heart of Baixa, start by heading towards Rua da Alegria. Walk straight until you reach Praça da Liberdade, a large square. From there, take the exit towards Rua de 31 de Janeiro, and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua de Santa Catarina. Turn left onto Rua de Santa Catarina and continue until you see the signs for the Sé Cathedral. The Pillory of Porto is located right in front of the Sé Cathedral at Terreiro da Sé.

  • Public Transport (Metro)

    If you're near the São Bento Metro Station, take the D line (yellow line) towards Hospital de São João. Get off at the next stop, which is the Trindade station. From Trindade, transfer to the A line (blue line) towards Estádio do Dragão. Get off at the next stop, which is the São Bento station. Exit the station and walk towards Rua de Ferreira Borges, then follow the signs to the Sé Cathedral. The Pillory of Porto is located at Terreiro da Sé, just in front of the cathedral. Note that a single metro ticket costs around €1.20.

    Locate a bus stop near you in Baixa. Take the bus line 203 or 207 towards 'Cais da Ribeira'. Get off at the stop 'Sé Catedral'.
