If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Douro Valley, head towards the A24 highway. Take the A24 southbound towards Porto. After approximately 1 hour, take exit 4 towards A1/IP1/Porto. Continue on the A1 and follow the signs for Porto. Once in Porto, follow the signs to the city center. The Monumento aos Mortos da Grande Guerra is located at Praça de Carlos Alberto 34. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to park a little further away and walk.

To reach the Monumento aos Mortos da Grande Guerra using public transportation, take a train from any station in Douro Valley to Porto Campanhã station. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once at Porto Campanhã, transfer to the Metro system. Take Line A (Blue) towards Senhor de Matosinhos and get off at the Trindade station. From Trindade, it is about a 10-minute walk to Praça de Carlos Alberto. Follow the signs to the city center, and you will find the monument at 34, Praça de Carlos Alberto.
