Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Guimarães, start at the Praça Oliveira. Head northeast on Rua de Santo António towards Rua de São Francisco. Continue straight until you reach the Largo do Toural. From there, take the road to the right, Rua de D. João IV, and walk straight until you reach the Guimarães train station. At the station, board a train to Porto, which takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Porto, exit the train station and follow signs for the metro. Take the metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at the Casa da Música station. From there, exit the station and head south on Rua de João de Deus. Continue straight until you reach Rua do Campo Alegre 1191, where the Jardim Botânico do Porto is located.

    From Guimarães city center, walk to the Guimarães bus station, which is about a 10-minute walk. Once at the bus station, take the bus to Porto (there are several options available). The bus ride usually takes around 1 hour. After arriving in Porto, walk to the nearest metro station, which is either São Bento or Aliados. From there, take the metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at the Casa da Música station.
