Walking
Start at the Setúbal train station. Exit the station and head southeast on Avenida 5 de Outubro. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua da Tróia. Follow this road until you reach the waterfront. Once at the waterfront, turn left and walk along the promenade (Cais 1) towards the marina. You will pass the ferry terminal on your left. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the end of the marina area. From here, you can see the Forte de Santiago do Outão directly across the water. To get to the fortress, you can take the ferry from the terminal to Troia. After disembarking, follow the signs toward the beach and the fortress. The walk will take about 20 minutes.

From the Setúbal city center, head to the bus terminal located on Avenida 5 de Outubro. Look for bus number 582, which goes to Troia. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride to the ferry terminal. After arriving at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry service to Troia. Once you arrive at Troia, follow the signs towards the beach area. From the beach, you can walk towards the Forte de Santiago do Outão, which should take about 20 minutes. Make sure to check the ferry schedule to ensure a timely return.
