Getting There

    From Setúbal city center, walk to the Setúbal Bus Station (Terminal Rodoviário de Setúbal). Once there, look for the bus line 561 that goes towards Almada. Purchase your ticket from the kiosk or the driver. Once on the bus, enjoy the ride, which takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Almada' stop. From there, walk towards Av. do Cristo Rei. It’s about a 15-minute walk straight along the road until you reach the Sanctuary of Christ the King.

  • Train and Bus

    Head to Setúbal Train Station (Estação Ferroviária de Setúbal). Board a train towards Lisbon and get off at the Pragal station. From Pragal, exit the station and catch the bus line 101 towards Almada. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop 'Almada Centro'. From there, it’s a 20-minute walk up Av. do Cristo Rei to reach the Sanctuary of Christ the King.

    If you prefer to walk, start from the Setúbal waterfront (Cais 1) and head towards the 25 de Abril Bridge. Follow the path along the river until you reach the base of the bridge. There, you can find pedestrian pathways leading up towards Almada. The walk is roughly 1 hour and requires some uphill walking, but it offers stunning views of the river and the bridge.
