Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Sintra. Head west on Avenida Dr. Miguel Bombarda toward Rua da Liberdade. Follow signs for N247 and then turn onto Estrada do Cabo da Roca (N247-1). Continue for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach Cabo da Roca. The drive offers beautiful views of the coastline. There are parking facilities available at Cabo da Roca, but be aware that they can fill up quickly during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cabo da Roca using public transportation, start by taking the Sintra train from Rossio Train Station in Lisbon to Sintra. The train journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sintra, head to the Sintra bus terminal (located near the train station) and take the Scotturb bus number 403, which goes directly to Cabo da Roca. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as the frequency may vary, and the last bus back to Sintra typically departs around 6 PM.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to Cabo da Roca is a rewarding experience. You can rent a bicycle in Sintra and follow the same route as cars. The route is approximately 12 kilometers and can be steep in some areas, so be prepared for a workout. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules. Upon reaching Cabo da Roca, you can secure your bicycle at designated bike racks.

• Walking

  If you're feeling particularly adventurous and fit, you can walk to Cabo da Roca from Sintra. This is a long walk of approximately 12 km and can take around 3-4 hours depending on your pace. Start by heading west from the center of Sintra, following the N247 road. Be cautious as the road can be narrow with little shoulder. Walking offers a unique perspective of the natural beauty of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
