Zekreet Steel Monument: A Testament to Art and Resilience

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Mesaieed, head towards the Mesaieed Beach area. Walk along the coastal road, following the signs to the beach. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Take a right turn onto the road heading towards Zekreet. Continue walking for about 4 kilometers until you reach the Zekreet area. The Zekreet Steel Monument is located at the coordinates GV86+MX5 (Broog), which is about 1 kilometer from the main road. Follow the path leading to the monument, and you will find it at the designated location.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from Mesaieed Beach. Cycle along the coastal road towards the Zekreet area. You will cover about 2 kilometers before reaching a junction. Turn right and continue cycling for an additional 4 kilometers on the road towards Zekreet. Once you are in the Zekreet area, follow the signs directing you to the Steel Monument. The final stretch will require approximately 1 kilometer of cycling off the main path to reach GV86+MX5 (Broog).

• Public Transport and Walking

  Catch a local bus from Mesaieed to the nearby Zekreet area. The bus stop can be found near the main market in Mesaieed. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Zekreet. Once you are dropped off, follow the road signs towards the Zekreet Steel Monument. It will take about 15-20 minutes of walking (approximately 1.5 kilometers) to reach the monument from the bus stop. Make sure to have a map or use your phone for navigation to GV86+MX5 (Broog).
