From downtown Providence, walk to the Kennedy Plaza bus terminal. Catch the RIPTA bus number 60 towards East Providence. The bus will take you across the city and into East Providence. You will need to disembark at the stop nearest to Hunts Mill Road, which is typically referred to as the 'Hunts Mill and Willett Avenue' stop. From there, it is a short walk to the East Providence Historical Society located at 65 Hunts Mill Rd, Rumford, RI 02916. Head northeast on Hunts Mill Road, and you will find the Historical Society on your left.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from the center of Providence to the East Providence Historical Society. Start at the Providence River Greenway and head towards the India Point Park area. Continue on the bike path until you reach the intersection with East Bay Bike Path. Follow this path along the waterfront, and then take a right to go towards the East Providence area. You will eventually merge onto Hunts Mill Road, where you can cycle directly to East Providence Historical Society located at 65 Hunts Mill Rd, Rumford, RI 02916.
