Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the main entrance of Volcanoes National Park located in Kinigi, head south on the Musanze-Kinigi Road. Continue for about 3 kilometers until you reach the junction for Ruhengera. Follow the signs leading to Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge, which is located along this road. The Ecolodge will be on your right. Ensure you have local currency for any potential tolls along the way.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge using public transportation, take a public minibus (commonly referred to as a 'matatu') from Musanze town to Kinigi. Upon arrival in Kinigi, you can either walk or hire a local motorcycle taxi (known as an 'moto') to cover the remaining 3 kilometers to the Ecolodge. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey, which typically costs around 1,000 Rwandan Francs for the moto ride.

• Walking

  If you find yourself near the entrance of Volcanoes National Park, you can walk to Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge. Head south on the Musanze-Kinigi Road for approximately 3 kilometers. Be cautious of the traffic and consider walking during daylight for safety. The Ecolodge is located on your right-hand side as you approach the Ruhengera area.
