If you are driving, start from the Volcanoes National Park entrance at Kinigi. Head south on the main road (Route Nationale 4) for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating Wantaz Backpackers on your right, at the location identified as GJQ9+V26. There is no entrance fee to reach the backpackers from the park entrance, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition to handle the roads.

To reach Wantaz Backpackers using public transportation, take a moto-taxi from the Volcanoes National Park entrance to Kinigi. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes and cost around 1,000 Rwandan Francs (approximately $1). Inform the driver that you are going to Wantaz Backpackers at GJQ9+V26. This is the most efficient method to reach your destination without having to walk.

If you prefer walking from the Volcanoes National Park entrance, it is about a 20-minute walk to Wantaz Backpackers. Exit the park entrance and head south on Route Nationale 4.
