Getting There

  • Walking

    From the East Coast Park main entrance, walk towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP) road. Follow the pathway leading towards the beach area. You will see a series of food stalls and rental shops on your left. Continue walking along the beach promenade for about 15 minutes until you reach the end of the park where the road splits. Follow the signs directing towards the cycling path. You may also notice signs for the nearby attractions. Keep walking straight until you reach the junction with Marine Parade Road, and then turn left to head towards the MRT station. Once you reach the MRT station, board the train towards Tanah Merah and transfer at the Tanah Merah station for the line heading towards Pasir Ris. Alight at the Pasir Ris station and take a bus that goes towards Batam. Follow the bus route until you reach the ferry terminal, where you can catch a boat to Batam. Upon arriving in Batam, take a local taxi to the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Monastery.

    Start by renting a bicycle from one of the bicycle rental stations in East Coast Park. Cycle along the designated bicycle paths towards the end of the park. Once you reach the junction where the cycling path meets the ECP road, continue straight until you see the signs for the Marina Bay area. Follow the signs towards the ferry terminal where you can catch a ferry to Batam. After arriving in Batam, you can take a taxi directly to the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Monastery.

    From East Coast Park, walk to the nearest bus stop and board bus number 31 or 43 that heads towards the Bedok MRT station. Once at Bedok MRT station, take the train towards Tanah Merah. Transfer at Tanah Merah to the line heading towards Pasir Ris. After reaching Pasir Ris, exit the station and head to the bus interchange to catch a bus to the ferry terminal. After reaching the ferry terminal, buy a ticket for a ferry to Batam. Once in Batam, take a taxi to the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Monastery.
