Walking
Start at the Nova Gorica train station. Exit the station and head east on Ulica Tolminskih Puntarjev. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Gregorčičeva ulica. Turn left onto Gregorčičeva ulica and walk for another 200 meters. This street will lead you to the main square, Trg Edvarda Kardelja. Once at the square, you will see a large fountain and the main church. From Trg Edvarda Kardelja, head towards the church and continue straight until you reach the border with Italy. Cross the border into Italy and continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta located at Piazza Capitolo, 1 in Aquileia.

Public Transport - Bus
From the Nova Gorica bus station, take bus number 12 towards Gorizia. Get off at the last stop in Gorizia. From there, transfer to bus number 4 towards Aquileia. The bus will take you directly to Aquileia. Once you arrive, walk towards Piazza Capitolo, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs to the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta, which will guide you through the town to the entrance of the Basilica.
