Walking
From the center of Nova Gorica, head east towards the pedestrian bridge (Most na Soči) crossing the Soča River. Once across, follow the signs to the train station (Železniška postaja Nova Gorica). From there, take bus number 1 towards the city of Gorizia in Italy. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Gorizia - Stazione' stop. From the bus stop, walk northwest on Via Giuseppe Verdi for about 10 minutes until you reach the main square in Gorizia. Here, change to bus number 51 towards 'Aquileia'. After about 30 minutes on the bus, get off at the 'Aquileia - Via Giulia Augusta' stop. The Great Mausoleum of Heraklion is located a short 5-minute walk away, directly north on Via Giulia Augusta. Look for the historical landmark on your left.
