If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Wall, SD, which is the closest major town to Badlands National Park. Head south on SD-240, also known as Badlands Loop Road. After approximately 22 miles, you will see the entrance to Badlands National Park. Continue driving for about 5 miles into the park until you reach the Sage Creek Campground sign. Turn left onto Sage Creek Rim Road (dirt road) and follow it for about 2 miles until you arrive at the campground, which will be on your right.

Public transportation options are limited in this area. You can take a shuttle from Rapid City to Wall, SD. Once you arrive in Wall, you will need to rent a car or arrange for a taxi, as there is no direct public transport to Sage Creek Campground. The distance from Wall to the campground is approximately 27 miles, so a car rental or taxi ride is recommended to reach your destination.
