    If you are driving from Rapid City, head southeast on I-90 E. After about 50 miles, take exit 131 for SD-240 E toward Badlands National Park. Follow SD-240 E for 24 miles, and you will reach the park's entrance. There is an entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, valid for 7 days.

    From Custer, take US-16A E for about 18 miles until you reach SD-34 E. Turn left onto SD-34 E and continue for approximately 25 miles. Then, turn right onto SD-240 E, which leads directly to the Badlands National Park entrance. The same entrance fee of $30 per vehicle applies.

  • Public Transportation

    If you're using public transportation, take a bus from Rapid City to Wall, SD. Once in Wall, you can use a local shuttle service or taxi to reach the Badlands National Park entrance, which is approximately 30 miles away. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance, as services may vary.
