From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial entrance, head southwest on SD-244 W. Walk along the path and continue straight for about 1 mile. You'll see signs directing you towards Sylvan Lake. Once you reach the intersection with the road leading to Sylvan Lake, turn left and continue for another half mile until you arrive at Sylvan Lake.

Inform the driver that you wish to go to Sylvan Lake. The shuttle will drop you off at the closest stop to the lake, from which you can walk approximately 0.3 miles to reach the lake's entrance.
