Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Pierre Visitor Information Center located at 800 W Dakota Ave, head east on Dakota Ave for two blocks until you reach the intersection with N Harrison Ave. Turn left (north) onto N Harrison Ave and walk for about three blocks. You'll then reach E Capitol Ave. Turn right (east) onto E Capitol Ave and continue walking for about four blocks. The South Dakota State Capitol will be on your left at 500 E Capitol Ave.

    From the Pierre City Park located at 300 W Capitol Ave, exit the park and head east on Capitol Ave. Continue straight for about five blocks until you reach the intersection with E Capitol Ave. Turn left (north) onto E Capitol Ave and ride for another block until you arrive at the South Dakota State Capitol at 500 E Capitol Ave. Be sure to follow bike lanes where available.
