Once you reach Yeonghwa-dong, continue walking in the direction of Hwaseong Fortress, which is approximately 15-20 minutes away on foot. Look for signs pointing towards the fortress, or follow the flow of tourists who are likely headed there as well.

From your location in Jangan-gu, locate the nearest bus stop. You can take bus number 13, 14, or 5. Board the bus heading towards the Suwon Station or Hwaseong Fortress stops. The ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Make sure to have small change or a transportation card ready, as rides typically cost around 1,200 KRW. Once you reach the stop for Hwaseong Fortress, disembark and follow the signs leading to the fortress entrance.

If you're near a subway station, you can take Line 1 (the dark blue line) towards Suwon Station. Alight at Suwon Station and transfer to a local bus (number 13, 14, or 5) heading to Hwaseong Fortress. The entire journey from the subway to the fortress should take around 30 minutes.
