Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Bilbao city center, make your way towards the Plaza Moyúa. From there, head south on Gran Vía until you reach Calle de la Alameda de Urquijo. Turn left and continue until you reach the junction with Calle de la Ronda. Turn right onto Calle de la Ronda, and follow it until you reach the Plaza Nueva. You will find the entrance at Santimamiñe Cueva Kalea, 2. The walk should take around 15-20 minutes.

• Metro

  If you prefer to take the Metro, board the Line 1 (the 'Euskotren') at the Abando station, heading towards Plentzia. Get off at the Casco Viejo station. Once you exit the station, head southeast on Calle de la Ancha towards Plaza Nueva. Follow the street until you reach the Plaza Nueva entrance at Santimamiñe Cueva Kalea, 2. This journey will take about 10-15 minutes in total, including walking.

• Bus

  You can take the bus from various points in the city. For example, from the Guggenheim Museum, take bus line 77 towards 'Zorroza'. Get off at the 'Paseo de la Ribera' stop. From there, walk along the river towards the historic district, following the signs to Plaza Nueva. The walk will take approximately 10 minutes.

• Tram

  Another option is to take the tram. Board the tram from the 'Guggenheim' stop heading towards 'Erandio'. Get off at the 'Casco Viejo' stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Plaza Nueva. Just follow the signs or ask locals for directions.
