From Ampara town, head south on the A4 highway towards Pottuvil. Continue for about 35 km until you reach the intersection with the B355 road. Turn left onto B355. Follow the B355 for approximately 20 km. You will see signs for Kumana National Park; keep following them until you reach the Kumana National Park Office. There is a parking area available at the office.

From Ampara town, take a bus heading towards Pottuvil. Buses depart frequently from the central bus station. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Kumana National Park. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop to Kumana, you might need to walk or hire a tuk-tuk for the last few kilometers to reach the Kumana National Park Office.
