Tuk-tuk
From Kandy city center, head to the main road (Sri Dalada Veediya). Look for a tuk-tuk stand; there are several around the Kandy Lake area. Inform the driver you want to go to Hunnasgiriya, and they will take you there directly. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
Public Bus
From Kandy city center, walk to the Kandy bus station (located near the railway station). Look for buses heading towards Hunnasgiriya or nearby destinations. Board the bus and pay the fare (generally around 50-100 LKR). The bus journey may take 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive at the Hunnasgiriya stop, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk to your final destination.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and the weather is pleasant, you can walk to Hunnasgiriya. Start from Kandy Lake and walk along the main road towards the Hunnasgiriya direction. It is approximately 15 kilometers, so be prepared for a long trek. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes. The walk will take around 3-4 hours, but you will enjoy beautiful scenery along the way.
