Getting There

Walking
Start from the Kandy City Center. Exit the shopping complex and head towards the Kandy Lake. Walk along the lake's perimeter until you reach the Kandy Museum. From the museum, take the road that leads to the Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue. Continue up this road, which will begin to incline, and follow the signs towards Bahirawakanda. Once you reach the Buddha statue, continue past it and look for a path that leads up the hill towards Peacock Rock. The path may be steep, but it will lead directly to the summit of Peacock Rock.

Tuk-Tuk
From the Kandy City Center, find a tuk-tuk driver to take you to Bahirawakanda. Specify that you want to go to the Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue. Once you arrive at the base, you can begin your hike up to Peacock Rock. If the driver is unfamiliar with the destination, you can show them the location on a map or ask them to drop you at the Buddha statue. The hike from there will be straightforward as long as you follow the trail that goes up the hill.

Local Bus
From the Kandy Bus Station, take a bus heading towards Peradeniya and ask to be dropped off at the Bahirawakanda junction. Once you get off, you will see signs for the Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue. Walk up the road leading to the statue, and from there, follow the path that leads to Peacock Rock. Be prepared for a steep incline as you ascend to the rock.
