    From the center of Matara, find a tuk-tuk stand or flag down a passing tuk-tuk. Inform the driver that you want to go to Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary in Hungama. Show them the address: 95/1, Bata Atha South, Hungama 82120. The journey should take approximately 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Enjoy the scenic ride as you pass through local villages and fields.

  • Bus

    Walk to the Matara Bus Station, which is located near the city center. Look for a bus heading to Hungama; these buses frequently depart from the station. Once on the bus, inform the conductor that you want to get off at Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes. After you get off, walk south along the main road for about 1 kilometer, and you will reach the sanctuary entrance.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop in Matara. Head southeast on the main road towards Hungama. Follow the route for about 12 kilometers, which should take around 1 hour, depending on your cycling speed.
