From the center of Nuwara Eliya, head towards the famous Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From there, locate the main road (Church Road) that leads out of the town. Continue walking along Church Road until you reach the junction with the Nuwara Eliya - Hatton Road (A7). At this junction, turn right onto the A7 road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you see the sign for 'Shanthipura'. Turn left onto the road leading towards Shanthipura. Keep walking for another 1 kilometer, and you will arrive at Shanthipura Lake and the fresh water supply scheme, which is located at coordinates approximately 6.9794° N, 80.7411° E.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nuwara Eliya. Start from the town center and cycle towards the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From the Post Office, take Church Road and cycle towards the A7 road. Once you reach the A7, turn right and continue cycling for about 1.5 kilometers. When you see the sign for 'Shanthipura', turn left. Continue along this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach Shanthipura Lake and the fresh water supply scheme.

To reach Shanthipura Lake and the fresh water supply scheme by Tuk-Tuk, find a Tuk-Tuk stand in the central area of Nuwara Eliya. Inform the driver that you want to go to Shanthipura Lake. The driver will take you via the main roads, typically along the A7 road. It is a short drive of about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off near the lake area, where you can explore the surroundings.
