From the main beach area in Unawatuna, head towards the main road (Galle-Matara Road). Walk along the beach promenade until you reach the main road. Turn left onto the Galle-Matara Road and continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction of the Unawatuna - Hiyare Road. Look for signs indicating 'Hiyare Reservoir'.

Once you reach the main road (Galle-Matara Road), find a tuk-tuk stand or simply wave one down. Tell the driver that you want to go to Hiyare Reservoir. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will take you along the Unawatuna - Hiyare Road, which leads directly to the reservoir.

From Unawatuna, walk to the main bus stop on Galle-Matara Road. Look for a bus heading towards Galle. Board the bus and ask the driver to drop you off at the Hiyare Reservoir stop.
