Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Scania, take the E6 highway towards Gothenburg. The journey takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you reach Gothenburg, follow the signs for the city center (Centrala Göteborg). As you approach the city, continue onto E45 and then take the exit towards 'Södra Vägen'. Follow Södra Vägen until you reach the intersection with Östra Larmgatan. Turn left onto Östra Larmgatan, and you will find the Jewish Community of Gothenburg at number 12 on your right. There is street parking available, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    To reach Gothenburg by train from Scania, take a train from your nearest station to Malmö Central. From Malmö Central, board a train heading to Gothenburg Central Station (Göteborg C). This journey takes about 2.5 hours. Once you arrive at Gothenburg Central Station, exit the station and take tram number 5 towards 'Biskopsgården'. Get off at the stop 'Kungsportsplatsen' after approximately 10 minutes. From Kungsportsplatsen, it's a short 10-minute walk to the Jewish Community of Gothenburg. Head east on Kungsportsavenyen, then turn onto Östra Larmgatan, where you will find the synagogue at number 12.

    If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take a regional bus service from various locations in Scania to Gothenburg. Check the Skånetrafiken website for schedules. Once in Gothenburg, you can take bus number 16 from 'Drottningtorget' towards 'Biskopsgården'. Get off at 'Kungsportsplatsen', and from there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Jewish Community of Gothenburg located at Östra Larmgatan 12. Please note that bus tickets need to be purchased in advance or through the Skånetrafiken app.
