Experience Gylterudsgrottan

Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Karlstad, which is approximately 50 km away from Gylterudsgrottan. Take the E18 highway north towards Oslo. After about 30 km, take the exit towards Route 61 towards Grums. Continue on Route 61 for about 11 km, then turn left onto Route 45. Follow Route 45 for approximately 8 km, then take a right turn onto Unnamed Road. Gylterudsgrottan will be located on your left-hand side. There is no entrance fee for visiting the grotto.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a train from Karlstad to the nearest station, which is in Grums. The train journey is about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Grums station, you will need to take a local bus (Bus 103 towards Värmlands Nysäter) until the stop 'Mangskog'. This bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. After getting off at Mangskog, it is about a 2 km walk to Gylterudsgrottan. Follow the signs towards Unnamed Road, and you will find the grotto on your left.
