From Lausanne, head to the Lausanne train station (Gare de Lausanne). You can take the metro line M2 towards Ouchy and get off at the final stop, then follow signs to the train station. At the station, purchase a ticket to Gruyères. Trains to Gruyères typically depart from platforms 4 or 5. The journey takes about 1 hour and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Once you arrive at Gruyères station, exit the station and head towards the town center, which is about a 20-minute walk. Follow the signs that lead you to Gruyères Castle and the tourist office.

From Lausanne, take the bus number 1 towards 'Lausanne Gare' and get off at the 'Lausanne Gare' stop. From there, you can catch the FlixBus or PostBus services that go to Gruyères. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the bus services may not run frequently. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. When you arrive at Gruyères, follow the signs to the town center, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

If you find yourself in the Gruyères area, you can take a leisurely walk to the Tourist Board located at Rue du Bourg 1. From Gruyères train station, head southeast on Rue de la Gare and take a left onto Chemin de la Rose. Continue straight until you reach Rue du Bourg, where you will find the Tourist Board on your right. The walk will take approximately 20 minutes.
