From Locarno train station, take the bus line 23 towards 'Verbania'. The bus stop is right outside the train station. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes. You will need to get off at the 'Intra - Stazione' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Giardini Botanici di Villa Taranto. Head towards the waterfront and follow the signs for the botanical gardens, which are located at Via Vittorio Veneto, 111.

Ferry
From Locarno, walk to the waterfront and find the ferry terminal. Board a ferry heading towards 'Intra'. The ferry ride will take approximately 30 minutes and offers beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. Once you arrive at 'Intra', follow the signs to the botanical gardens; it’s about a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal along the lakefront to Via Vittorio Veneto, 111.

If you are near the center of Locarno, you can choose to walk. Start from Piazza Grande and head towards the waterfront. Once you reach the lake, continue walking north along the lakeside promenade. This will lead you to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch the ferry mentioned above or continue walking towards Verbania, which is about a 1.5-hour walk along the scenic lakeside path.
