Walking
From the Lugano train station, exit the station and head south on Via P. Caprera. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Nassa. Turn left onto Via Nassa and walk towards the lake. At the lake, turn right onto the promenade and walk along the waterfront. Follow the promenade until you see the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola on your left. Continue walking past the hotel and up Via Giuseppe M. Gatti until you reach Piazza Bernardino Luini. The Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angioli will be on your right at Piazza Bernardino Luini 6.

From the Lugano train station, take bus number 2 (direction: Viganello). Get off at the 'Piazza Indipendenza' stop, which is just a few stops away. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the large square in front of you. From there, head straight along Via Nassa until you reach the lakefront. Turn right and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Via Bernardino Luini. Turn left, and the Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angioli will be on your left at Piazza Bernardino Luini 6.

From the Lugano train station, walk to the funicular station called 'Funicolare del Monte Brè', which is about 10 minutes away. Take the funicular up to Monte Brè, enjoy the view, and then take the funicular back down. Once you return to the station, walk towards the lake and follow the waterfront promenade. Head towards the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola, and continue up Via Giuseppe M. Gatti to Piazza Bernardino Luini, where the Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angioli is located at number 6.
