Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Moshi, head towards the main bus station (Moshi Bus Terminal). Once you reach the terminal, look for signs directing you to the Materuni Waterfall tours. You can ask locals for 'Materuni' if you have trouble finding the right direction. It's approximately a 30-minute walk from the center. Follow the road leading towards the outskirts of Moshi, and you will come across shops and local markets along the way. Once you get to the bus terminal, you can catch a daladala (local minibus) heading to Materuni. The fare is usually around 1000 TZS.

    After reaching the Moshi Bus Terminal, board a daladala that is labeled for Materuni or the area around it. The ride will take about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to tell the conductor you are going to Materuni Waterfall, and they will let you know when to get off. The daladala will drop you off near the entrance to the waterfall hiking path.
