Getting There

Walking
Start at the Moshi Town Center (typically near the Clock Tower). From the Clock Tower, head north on Uhuru Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Sokoine Road. Turn left onto Sokoine Road and walk until you reach the bus station. At the bus station, look for a 'Dala Dala' (shared minibus) heading to Materuni. These Dala Dalas are usually marked with their destination on the front. Board the Dala Dala and enjoy the ride, which may take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Materuni stop, disembark and ask locals for directions to the Materuni Village Experience, which is a short walk away.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Moshi Town Center, specifically near the Clock Tower. Head north on Uhuru Street and then take a left onto Sokoine Road. Continue to the bus station, then follow the signs for the Dala Dala routes but instead proceed directly along Sokoine Road towards Materuni. The ride will take you through scenic areas and may take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure to ask locals for directions as you get closer to the village.

For an adventurous route, start at the Moshi Town Center near the Clock Tower. From there, head towards Uhuru Street and then on to Sokoine Road. Instead of taking a Dala Dala, you can hike towards Materuni Village. Follow Sokoine Road and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. The hike can take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Keep an eye out for signs and ask locals for guidance along the way, especially as you near the village. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the journey.
