    If you are traveling by car, start your journey in Moshi, which is a central hub in the Kilimanjaro Region. Head southwest on the A23 road towards Arusha. After approximately 6 kilometers, take a left turn onto Kitela Road. Continue on this road for about 7 kilometers until you reach Materuni Cultural Tourism, which will be on your right. Ensure to keep an eye out for local signs directing you to Materuni.

  • Public Transportation (Matatus)

    From Moshi, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Materuni. You will find matatus at the Moshi bus station. Confirm with the driver that they are heading to Materuni. The fare is usually around 2000 TZS per person. The ride will take about 30 minutes. The matatu will drop you off near the entrance of Materuni Cultural Tourism. From there, it’s a short walk to the main site.
