Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Moshi, near the Clock Tower. Head north on Uhuru Street for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with Sokoine Road. Turn left onto Sokoine Road and walk for another 300 meters until you reach the Moshi Bus Terminal. Here, you can take a local daladala (minibus) to Materuni. The daladala to Materuni departs from the terminal; ask locals for the right daladala heading to Materuni or the nearby village of Materuni. The fare is usually around 1,000 TZS.

  • Daladala

    Once you board the daladala to Materuni, it will take you approximately 30-45 minutes to reach your destination. The journey may be bumpy, but enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for signs or ask the conductor to let you know when you reach Materuni. The daladala will drop you off in the village, from where you will need to walk to the entrance of the Materuni Waterfalls.

    After getting off the daladala in Materuni village, follow the main path leading towards the waterfall. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the village to the waterfalls. The path is well-marked, and you can ask locals for directions if needed. Enjoy the lush greenery and immerse yourself in the beauty of the nature around you as you approach your destination.
