Getting There

Car
From any location in the Ngorongoro Highlands, head towards the main road that leads to Karatu. Once you reach the main road (B144), proceed towards the direction of Karatu. After about 20 kilometers, look for a sign for Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge on your left. Turn off the main road and follow the dirt road for approximately 3 kilometers. The lodge will be on your right side. Ensure you have a map or GPS to assist with navigation.

Public Transportation
To reach Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge using public transportation, take a dala-dala (local minibus) from Karatu to Rhotia. The ride will cost around 1,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings) and takes about 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you need to stop at Rhotia Valley. Once you arrive at the Rhotia stop, you will need to walk approximately 2.5 kilometers to the lodge. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to ensure you reach the lodge safely.

If you prefer a more private option, you can hire a taxi from Karatu to Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge. This option will cost around 20,000-30,000 TZS depending on negotiation and will take approximately 20 minutes. Ensure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The driver will take you directly to the lodge's entrance.
