Experience Old Customs House

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Forodhani Gardens, head east towards the sea. Continue walking along the waterfront, keeping the water on your left. You will pass the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) on your right. Continue straight along the Mizingani Road. The Old Customs House is located at R5RR+9H3, Mizingani Rd, Zanzibar, just before you reach the ferry terminal.

    If you are at the Darajani Market, exit the market towards the main road. Turn right onto Mizingani Road and walk straight. You will pass several shops and local vendors. Keep walking for about 10 minutes, and you will see the Old Customs House on your left, just before the seafront.
