Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car and are already in Cades Cove, start by heading northwest on Cades Cove Loop Road. Follow the loop road until you reach the intersection with Laurel Creek Road. Turn left onto Laurel Creek Road and continue driving until you reach the park entrance at the end of the road. Once you enter the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, keep following the signs towards US-441. Merge onto US-441 North, and continue for about 6 miles. Look for the Ben Morton Overlook sign on your right; there is a small parking area available for visitors.

  • Public Transportation

    Currently, there is limited public transportation available directly to Ben Morton Overlook. However, visitors can take a shuttle from Gatlinburg to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From Gatlinburg, board the park shuttle heading towards Cades Cove. Once you arrive at Cades Cove, you will need to walk the remaining distance. Head northwest on Cades Cove Loop Road until you reach the intersection with Laurel Creek Road. Turn left and follow Laurel Creek Road to the park entrance, then continue on US-441 North until you find the overlook on your right. Note that the shuttle service may incur a fee, so check the local transportation schedules for costs and availability.
