From Downtown Chattanooga, head to the nearest bus stop located at the Chattanooga Choo Choo on 1400 Market St. Board the CARTA bus number 1 (Signal Mountain) or number 4 (East Ridge) that heads towards St. Elmo. The fare for a single ride is $1.50, and you can pay with cash or use a mobile app if available. Stay on the bus for approximately 20-25 minutes, and get off at the St. Elmo Avenue stop. From there, it's a short walk to the St. Elmo Historic District located at 4500 St Elmo Ave.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations around Downtown Chattanooga. Head towards the Riverwalk bike path and follow the path southwest towards St. Elmo. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on your speed. Once you reach the area near 4500 St Elmo Ave, you can lock your bike at a nearby rack and walk to the St. Elmo Historic District.

Walking
For those who enjoy walking, begin at the Chattanooga Riverfront Park. From the park, head north on Riverfront Parkway until you reach the intersection with Market St. Turn left onto Market St and continue walking until you reach 23rd St. Turn right on 23rd St, which will lead you to St. Elmo Ave. Follow St. Elmo Ave for about 1.5 miles until you arrive at the St. Elmo Historic District at 4500 St Elmo Ave. The walk will take around 40-50 minutes.
