Getting There

Car
From the center of Chiang Mai, head west on Huay Kaew Road (Route 1004) towards Doi Suthep. Continue straight for about 8 kilometers until you reach the junction at the foot of Doi Suthep mountain. Follow the signs for Doi Suthep and turn left onto the winding road leading up the mountain. After approximately 5 kilometers, you'll arrive at the entrance of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. Note that there is an entrance fee of 30 THB per person.

Songthaew (Shared Taxi)
You can catch a songthaew from various points in the city, especially from the Chiang Mai Zoo or the Old City area. Look for songthaews with a sign indicating 'Doi Suthep' or 'Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.' Fares usually range from 30 to 50 THB per person, depending on your starting point. The songthaew will take you to the base of the mountain, where you can either walk up or take another songthaew to the temple and park area.

Take the public bus numbered 34 from the Chang Phueak bus station. The bus will take you to the base of Doi Suthep. The fare is approximately 20 THB. Once you reach the base, you will need to either walk up the 309 steps to the temple or catch a songthaew that goes to the top. The entrance to the national park is near the temple area.
