History of Mysia

Located in the northwest of modern-day Turkey, Mysia was an ancient region that played a significant role in the history of Asia Minor. Its strategic location between the Aegean Sea and the interior of the Anatolian Peninsula made it a crossroads for various civilizations and cultures throughout history.
The region of Mysia was inhabited since prehistoric times, with evidence of early human settlements dating back to the Neolithic period. Archaeological findings, including tools and pottery, suggest that the area was a thriving hub for early agricultural communities.

After the death of Alexander the Great, Mysia became part of the Hellenistic world. The most notable development during this period was the rise of the Kingdom of Pergamon.
