Experience Jinja Pier

Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from the center of Jinja, head southeast on Main Street towards Jinja Bridge. Keep driving for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Kisinja Road (C675). Continue straight on Kisinja Road for about 2 kilometers. Jinja Pier will be on your left side. Look for the sign indicating the entrance to the pier.

  • Public Transportation (Boda Boda)

    To reach Jinja Pier via boda boda (motorcycle taxi), find a boda boda stand in central Jinja. Inform the rider that you want to go to Jinja Pier on Kisinja Road. The ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay around 5,000 to 10,000 UGX for this trip.

  • Public Transportation (Matatu)

    You can also take a matatu (shared minibus). Head to the nearest matatu stage and look for one heading towards Kisinja. Once you board, inform the conductor that you want to get off at Jinja Pier. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes. The fare is usually around 1,000 to 2,000 UGX. After getting off, it’s a short walk to the pier entrance.
