Getting There

    If you are driving from any location in Ssese Islands, you'll first need to take a ferry from the islands to the mainland. The main ferry terminal is in Bukakata. Once you arrive on the mainland, head to the Masaka Road (A104) towards Masaka. Continue on this road until you reach the junction for Jinja. Follow the signs to Jinja on the A109 road. The drive will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. Upon reaching Jinja, follow signs to Nile Crescent, where the Source of the Nile is located.

    To reach the Source of the Nile using public transportation, first make your way to the ferry terminal in Bukakata. Take the ferry to the mainland, which typically costs around UGX 5,000 - 10,000. Once on the mainland, board a taxi (shared minibus) headed to Jinja. The fare usually ranges from UGX 10,000 to 20,000. The journey to Jinja may take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival in Jinja, you can take a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to Nile Crescent, which should cost about UGX 5,000 - 10,000. The Source of the Nile is located directly on Nile Crescent.
