Car
From the center of Cumbria, head towards the A595 road. If you're coming from the city of Carlisle, take the A595 southbound. Continue on the A595 until you reach the junction with the A5093. Turn left onto the A5093, which will lead you towards the village of Holmrook. Follow the signs to Hardknott Pass, where the fort is located. Please note that the road can be narrow and steep, so drive carefully. The address is Hardknott Pass, Holmrook CA19 1TH. There is no entry fee to access the fort, but parking may be limited, so arrive early to secure a spot.

If traveling by public transport, take a train to the nearest station, which is Ravenglass. From Ravenglass, you can catch the number 5 bus towards Holmrook. This bus service runs several times a day. Get off at the nearest stop for Hardknott Pass. From there, it's about a 1.5-mile walk uphill to the fort, so wear appropriate footwear. The bus fare is approximately £3.50 one way.
