Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Stornoway, the largest town on the Isle of Lewis. Head west on the A857 road for approximately 15 miles. When you reach the junction with the B8011, turn left onto the B8011. Continue on this road for about 3 miles until you see signs for RSPB Loch na Muilne. The reserve is located at the address Isle of Lewis HS2 9DJ. There is parking available at the site.

For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Stornoway to the village of Barvas. The bus service is operated by Western Isles Council and typically runs several times a day. Once you arrive in Barvas, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles along the A857 road towards RSPB Loch na Muilne. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially outside of peak tourist season.

If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to walk, RSPB Loch na Muilne is accessible by foot from the surrounding areas. Make sure to have a good map or a GPS device, as the paths can be less defined. Walking from Barvas along the A857 will take you directly to the reserve.
