Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Portree, the capital of Isle of Skye. Take the A87 road towards Kyle of Lochalsh. After approximately 20 miles, continue on the A87 until you reach the junction with the A850. Follow the A850 towards Dunvegan until you reach the A863. Turn onto the A863 and follow it until you reach the junction with the A87. Continue on the A87 until you reach the A832. Follow the A832 until you reach Gairloch. Once in Gairloch, follow the signs for Red Point Beach. You will need to take a left turn onto the B8021 road, which will lead you directly to the beach. The entire journey takes about 1.5 hours and covers approximately 45 miles.

    If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Portree to Gairloch. The local bus service, run by Stagecoach, operates routes from Portree to Gairloch.
