Getting There

  • Car

    From Windermere, take the A591 north towards Keswick. Continue on the A591 until you reach the roundabout at the junction with the A66. Take the A66 east towards Penrith and continue for approximately 8 miles. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A592 towards Ullswater. Follow the A592 until you reach the sign for National Trust - Aira Force, which is located on the left. There is a car park available on-site, but do note that there may be a parking fee.

  • Public Transport

    From Windermere train station, take the bus (Stagecoach 555) towards Keswick. Get off at the stop for Pooley Bridge. From Pooley Bridge, you can catch the 508 bus which will take you to the Aira Force stop. The bus service runs regularly, but be sure to check the latest schedules in advance. Aira Force is a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Walking

    If you are staying nearby in Watermillock, you can walk to Aira Force. From the village, follow the A592 towards Ullswater. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and will lead you directly to the entrance of Aira Force. The path is well-marked, and the scenic views of Ullswater along the way are worth the trek.
