A Heartfelt Tribute: The National Covid Memorial Wall

Getting There

• Underground

  If you're starting from anywhere in central London, make your way to an Underground station. The nearest station to The National Covid Memorial Wall is Westminster (Jubilee Line). Take the Jubilee Line towards Stratford and alight at Westminster station. From the station, exit onto Bridge Street and head towards Westminster Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue walking along the south bank of the River Thames.

• Walking

  After crossing Westminster Bridge, continue walking along the riverbank until you reach Lambeth Palace Road. The National Covid Memorial Wall is located at the North Wing, Lambeth Palace Road, London SE1 3FT. It should take about 10-15 minutes to walk from Westminster Bridge to the memorial wall. Look for the large, colorful heart murals, which represent the lives lost during the pandemic.

• Bus

  If you prefer taking a bus, from Westminster station, you can catch bus number 88 or 507 from the nearby bus stop on Victoria Embankment. Both buses head towards the Lambeth area. Get off at the Lambeth Palace stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the memorial wall, just follow Lambeth Palace Road until you see the memorial.

• Cycling

  For those who are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many docking stations in central London. Ride towards the River Thames and follow the cycle path along the South Bank. Keep heading east until you reach Lambeth Palace Road. The memorial wall is located at the North Wing of Lambeth Palace Road, SE1 3FT. This route is scenic and should take approximately 20 minutes from central London.
