Getting There

  • Train

    From Manchester Piccadilly Station, take the train to Edale. Trains run regularly, so check the schedule for specific times. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Edale Station, exit the station and follow signs for the village of Edale. This walk is about 15 minutes.

  • Walking

    From Edale village, head to the main road (A6187) and turn left towards the village hall. After about 100 meters, you will see a sign for the Pennine Way, which leads you towards Kinder Scout. Follow the Pennine Way trail; it is a well-marked path that will take you up to the plateau of Kinder Scout. The hike up takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

    Alternatively, from Manchester, take a bus to Chapel-en-le-Frith, which is serviced by several bus companies. Upon arriving, transfer to the local bus (usually the 199 service) heading towards Edale.
