Getting There

    From Manchester city centre, walk to the Piccadilly Gardens bus stop. Board the Transpeak bus (Route 218) towards Buxton. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Get off at the stop called ‘Edale’ and from there, follow the signs towards the Kinder Scout trailhead which is about a 20-minute walk uphill.

  • Train and Walk

    Make your way to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Take a train to Edale station; the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Edale station, exit and follow the signs towards the Kinder Scout walking trail. It’s approximately a 1-hour hike from the station to the summit of Kinder Scout.

  • Walking

    If you are in the Hope Valley area, you can start your walk to Kinder Scout directly from Hope village. Follow the footpath signs from the village towards Kinder Scout. The hike to the peak will take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
